Accu-pac on the straight and narrow

BRISTOL,ENGLAND -Strong interest from Singapore, India, Pakistan, and China has turned the eyes of Bristol-based Industrial Automation Systems towards Asia. The British company behind Accu-pac ?the OPP print positioning, registration, and web alignment system ?is also in the process of supplying three systems to Malaysia.

One of Accu-pac's main advantages is that the modular units can be retrofitted to any OEM equipment in the field, whether Molins, G.D, Focke, Schmermund, etc. The fitting and training takes only three days and, once installed, can radically improve overwrap printing quality ?even on pre-printed film. The system's motorized film feed and tension control also helps reduce waste and slippage, and the new touch-screen controls have been developed to be very user-friendly.

Accu-pac's versatility means that it can also be used on carton overwrap and, according to Industrial Automation Systems?production director, Gary Moore, coming soon will be print registration on tear tape. (SH)
