cigar newest brand from J.C. Newman TAMPA, FLORIDA - Alcazar is the new brand of Maduro cigar manufactured in Nicaragua for the J.C. Newman Cigar Co. The Alcazar, named after the famous racehorse, appeals to cigar smokers who enjoy cigars that are darker and richer in taste, in larger ring gauges. All five sizes in the Alcazar brand have a diameter of 50/64ths of inch. "The large ring gauge makes for a very rich smoke," said Eric M. Newman, president of the Tampa, Florida-based J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Newman said the Alcazar brand is made by hand, using 10% long filler tobacco, and is priced to compete with any premium cigar on today's market. Prices for the five sizes of Alcazar range from US$2.25-2.95 each. The cigars come in bundles of 20. "We introduced this brand to give consumers the Maduro cigars they've been looking for at prices they can afford," Newman said. (john) |
