After 11 successful years as c.e.o. of the Swiss packaging group Hoffmann Neopac, Dr. Hans Jordi is about to retire. On June 22, 2011, Mark Aegler will take over the reins of this innovative company steeped in tradition.
Hoffmann Neopac specializes in the manufacture of high-quality tinplate containers and Polyfoil tubes. The packaging is in high demand world-wide for health products, cosmetics and luxury goods because of its excellent decorative and protective properties.

Dr. Hans Jordi has stood at the helm of the Swiss packaging company for 11 years. Under his management, the company made major strides forward, became focused, consolidated its position on the international stage and witnessed strong growth. Considerable investments have been made in the two Swiss sites at Oberdiessbach and Thun in recent years, focusing on new technologies, innovative products and additional production capacities. This has allowed Neopac to consistently develop in the “pharmaceutical tubes” sector and Hoffmann to concentrate on pocket packs and tins for the tobacco and food sector. In 2006, Hoffmann Neopac purchased the subsidiary company Tu-Plast in Debrecen (Hungary), and doubled the production capacity of this site.
On June 22, 2011, Mark Aegler succeeded Dr. Jordi as c.e.o. Mark Aegler was born in 1965, studied Food Engineering at the ETH (University of Science and Technology) in Zürich and obtained an MBA from the IMD (International Business School) in Lausanne. His career has taken him all over the world, working for Nestlé in Europe, South Africa, the US, Mexico and Malaysia, and for Atisholz AG as head of the department of biotechnical products. For the last nine years he has been employed as the c.e.o. of Bischofszell Nahrungsmittel AG.

Why would it? It didn’t occur to the fledgling cigarette business that smoking cigarettes may be harmful. On the contrary when cigarettes were first produced they were considered a great idea. They were smaller, much more convenient and easier to carry than cigars. The packaging was novel. What wasn’t to like? They entirely suited a modern world on the move.
