Messe Dortmund GmbH, organizers of InterTabac and InterSupply, the world’s largest tobacco trade exhibitions, introduce ITShub, a hybrid event that enables both on-site and virtual presence, taking place November 3-4, 2020 with Covid-compliant measures in place.
Due to the postponement of InterTabac/InterSupply to 2021, there remains a desire to meet and talk shop as well as present new products and exchange ideas. Accordingly, in conjunction with partner associations from the tobacco trade, Messe Dortmund presents a new compact exhibition and conference format.
ITShub combines the strengths of a physical onsite presence with the advantages of the digital world. As part of the physical presence, ITShub offers participating companies the opportunity to present their products, innovations, services, and offers onsite in Dortmund using attractive “presence spots”. Each presence spot requires just the minimum of personnel; 1-2 persons per spot would be completely sufficient.
The presence spots will be flanked by two stages on which panel discussions, lectures on current and future-oriented topics of the tobacco industry, and an international interactive exchange will take place. State-of-the-art transmission technology will be used so that ITShub will be available to all participants worldwide. Even tasting the products will be possible, just as companies are accustomed to at Dortmund exhibition center.

Those who do not have the opportunity to visit in person can participate virtually – this applies equally to companies and participants. Companies that cannot be on-site can present themselves online in the virtual exhibition. Participants have the opportunity to join in live and experience everything that happens live on site.
ITShub does not replace InterTabac and InterSupply, but the concept offers all companies and participants the opportunity to be there – online and/or on site. This is indeed unique after the abundance of cancellations or postponements this year. In 2020 there is only this one opportunity to meet and exchange ideas internationally and to address the relevant topics of the industry. However, ITShub has enormous potential to complement InterTabac and InterSupply in the future. It is also possible to hold ITShub as a stand-alone event with focused topics, such as a Cigar Special or NGP Summit.
On site this November, ITShub participants will come from Germany and Europe. Already Bundesverband des Tabakwareneinzelhandels (BTWE) confirmed great interest from its members to participate in ITShub. The same can be seen with various companies.
ITShub also offers networking opportunities. There will be enough rooms for exchange on site. In addition, all participants can follow the stage program live on site. This can be experienced as absolutely trouble-free for all exhibitors thanks to the silent listening method. Thus, a platform for exchange and knowledge transfer in equal measure, without any disadvantages, is guaranteed.
ITShub will also enable interaction in the digital world. Participants from all over the world will be able to ask questions to exhibitors and speakers to participate in the program. In this way, exhibitors as well as visitors of ITShub can have a mutual exchange.
ITShub is designed so that the event deliberately gets by with a low level of exposure/use. This applies to all areas, including the preparations which would be very easy for the companies, whether the company has decided to participate digitally or physically. For example, on-site presence spots are offered ready for occupancy, eliminating all the individual set-up and dismantling work that is required for a classic trade fair.
ITShub offers two options for exhibitors - a physical presence package and a digital one. Each package costs €4,995.00. In addition, exhibitors can avail themselves to a video package where the exhibitor has the chance to present themselves and their products in a streamed guided tour for €995.00. The video will also be available after the event. An all-inclusive package can also be booked for €9,995..00 This includes both physical and digital presence and the video package.
Visitors will be able to register for a visit on-site from around mid-September via the homepage www.its-hub-dortmund.com. Onsite visits to the trade fair in Dortmund will cost €20 .00 per person. The virtual visit is free of charge.
