Messe Dortmund, organizers of InterTabac – the world's largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories – and InterSupply, regrettably announce the postponement of these major tobacco industry fairs from September 2021 to September 15-17, 2022.
In a statement, the organizer of the shows – held annually in Dortmund, Germany – reacts to the continuing pandemic situation in Germany in particular and the latest developments for the coming months which, “would prevent the trade fair from being reliably prepared and mean an incalculable economic risk for exhibitors.”
Current plans for InterTabac and InterSupply now focus on September 15-17, 2022, when participants from home and abroad will once again be able to convene in Dortmund and discover the latest products and trends presented by exhibitors.
“Working closely with the industry associations and partner associations, the conceptual sponsors, the advisory board, and the exhibitors of these twin fairs, it has become clear that the vast majority are against holding the events this September, as previously announced,” said Sabine Loos, managing director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH, the organizing parent company.
Last time, InterTabac and InterSupply set a new visitor record, clocking up a total of 13,800 guests. “Alongside InterTabac with its superb record of success over several decades, InterSupply has now established itself as a firm feature in the tobacco industry diary,” added Loos. As an international trade fair, next year's InterSupply (the sixth event) will once again focus on the manufacturing processes behind tobacco products, e-cigarettes, pipes, and shisha, and will once again offer participants an ideal platform for discussing, sharing, and interacting, and for placing and taking orders.
InterTabac/InterSupply 2022 will be accompanied by an exclusive series of tastings, conferences, and a continually evolving and refined supporting program which continues to be an important core part of the event annually. Leading experts will offer a wide range of information on key industry topics such as new legal frameworks and political decision-making. Tastings and pairings will complement the portfolio with multi-sensory taste experiences for trade visitors centering around new trends and tobacco products.
