Star Tobacco International has promoted Mehmet Ayyildiz to the newly-created position of vice president Indonesian region, effective September 1, 2017. Ayyildiz will also continue in his role as director group finance.
This comes following a decision by the company that the Indonesian region must become one of the major investment markets for Star Tobacco, entailing investment in the company’s warehouse operations as well as the establishment of a band cast reconstituted tobacco factory in Java.
Ayyildiz joined Star Tobacco as group finance manager in May 2015 and was promoted to director group finance in June this year. In those roles he has been instrumental in establishing financial policies and procedures, implementing accounting platforms for all group companies, executing financial analysis and reporting for all Star Tobacco companies worldwide, and designing and implementing an enterprise resource management platform (ERP0 at Star Tobacco headquarters in Istanbul. He has also been instrumental in banking operations, credit lines, and trade finance instruments.
