Starting this September, cigarette prices in Australia are expected to go up by 12.5%. This will be the eighth consecutive year of price hikes as part of the federal government’s bid to curb smoking.
The latest price hike will make the cheapest packs cost AU$29. Marlboro Golds will go up to almost AU$49. Prices for bags of tobacco are also expected to go up.
