CROATIA
Zagreb-based company, Camelot, will be presenting a new Croatian cigar, the Terra Magica, which is expected to dominate the Croatian market in the next several years.
Alex Kosanovic, owner of Camelot, the company which distributes Habanos and Davidoff cigars in Croatia, said that all distributors have the opportunity to propose a regional cigar project every few years.
“The process is complicated and takes several years. You first choose a factory and a brand of cigars, and then a form which is crucial for the creation of flavors. And then there is also the name. In our case, we have opted for Terra Magica, to pay tribute to Istria, which has integrated cigars into its tourist offer,” he explained.
Kosavanic also said that Terra Magica will be produced in Cuba while Camelot selects the tobacco regarding taste and strength as well as the name and packaging. Terra Magica will be exclusively owned by Camelot for two years, after which Habanos will have the right to include it into its regular portfolio.
Back in 2009, Camelot proposed Vegas Robaina-Marshal, the first Croatian cigar which also became a global hit. Kosanovic believes the Terra Magica could be just as successful. Set to sell at 149 kunas, Kosanovic says the Terra Magica will be the best-selling cigar in Croatia and Slovenia during this and next year.
