A new device, Voke, has been launched and claims to be safe even for pregnant women. Voke has been licensed as a medicine by the Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The device, which is not an e-cigarette, delivers rapid nicotine craving relief without heat, burn, or vapor.
Voke looks like a pack of cigarettes, complete with a rectangular box, and a plastic “cigarette” which slots into it. Users simply have to remove the plastic “cigarette” from the box, and push it into a small opening in the bottom of the box. This will fill the plastic cigarette with a low dose of nicotine, which is then inhaled directly into the lungs.
A pack of Voke (20 charges) costs ₤11.99, similar to the price of a pack of cigarettes.
