The newly minted Tobacco Authority of Thailand (TAOT) plans to introduce its Chinese cigarettes to the market this October, targeting the increasing number of Chinese visitors to the country.
Daonoi Sutthinipapan, governor of TAOT, announced that the group signed an MOU with Shaanxi Jinye Science Education Group and Yunnan Reascend Tobacco Technology to produce cigarettes for these two Chinese companies.
According to Sutthinipapan, TAOT would develop a new product using findings from research conducted by the two companies on the raw materials, flavors, and packaging preferred by Chinese consumers. The new product will be launched in the local market on October 1, which is the National Day of China.
