Philippines’ Senate has approved a bill raising the excise taxes on tobacco products and imposing duties on vape products.
A 20-0 vote saw Senate Bill 2233, which raises the excise taxes on cigarettes by PHP45 per pack by 2020, PHP50 per pack by 2021, PHP55 per pack by 2022, and PHP60 per pack by 2023, approved.
The bill also places a PHP10 tax for every 10 milliliters of vaping liquids.
